Q&A WITH TOM RAVENSTAHL

How would you describe yourself in five words?
stubborn, loyal, passionate, selfish and inventive.

What is your greatest strength?
Once a center for heavy industry, today Pittsburgh's skyline has been transformed. Riverfronts are thoughtfully developed, utilized for recreation now more than ever. Businesses look to the environment as an asset, not a challenge. And, best of all, "green" has replaced "smoky" for good.

What fictional character reminds you most of yourself?

Do you consider yourself the hero or the villain in your story?
I would claim neither title. I think the qualities you need to be the quintessential hero is too idealistic, and being the villain implies I’m not even the center of my own story. I have done some messed up things to get to where I am today. It’s hard for me to believe everyone makes it in this business without having to get their hands dirty.

Describe a memory you have from your first acting job.
Yinz is meant to be a game that fosters unique storylines and writing interaction. If your idea of roleplaying solely rests on commenting and collecting dozens of lines, this may not be the place for you. We want to create an environent where characters have meaningful connections and members are challenged to write their best in both updates and threads. If this interests you, then we encourage you to apply!

What is your favorite thing about what you do? Least favorite?
In the eyes of many of its visitors, Pittsburgh offers a surprising and unexpected experience, with natural beauty, unique terrain and diverse offerings at every turn. Pittsburgh's history and blue collar image makes the city and its inhabitants approachable and unpretentious.
